Popular Merced hotel is giving away a free wedding reception. Here are the details

For one lucky couple, it could be a nice day for a free wedding at an award-winning Merced hotel in 2026 or early 2027.
The El Capitan Hotel, which last year was honored by Condé Nast Traveler, is giving away a free wedding reception to one happy couple, the hotel said in a Facebook post.
The winners will receive a wedding reception for 50 guests indoors or for 80 guests outdoors in the hotel courtyard, the post said. The reception will come “complete with all the essentials — plus complimentary beer, wine, and a champagne toast.”
The contest ends March 31 and the reception must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, the post said.

According to Condé Nast Traveler, the Merced hotel is one of the best places to stay in Northern California as part of the 2024 Readers Choice Awards.
The hotel, at 609 West Main St. in Merced, was No. 13 on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the best hotels in Northern California.
The hotel, which celebrated its grand opening in 2021 after undergoing renovations, features 114 guest rooms as well as courtyard, a 24-hour fitness center and 5,429 square feet of event space, according to its website.
In 2024, Sunset magazine named El Capitan Hotel one of its top places to stay in California in 2024.
