Decoy operation catches Delhi store selling tobacco to minor, sheriff says
A Delhi convenience store has been cited for selling tobacco products to a minor, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Merced County Public Health, conducted a minor decoy operation at 10 businesses in Hilmar, Stevinson and Delhi.
Only one, Paradise Gifts & Apparel, at 9722 Stephens Street in Delhi, sold a tobacco product to the underage customer, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
The employee who sold the product was cited and five nicotine/flavored tobacco pens were seized from the business.
The following businesses were in compliance, the post said:

- KWIK SERV 8480 Lander Ave, Hilmar
- Hilmar Smoke Shop 8325 Lander Ave, Hilmar
- Cottonwood Liquor 9893 Stephens St, Delhi
