Merced Super Bowl fans can skip Bad Bunny and watch nice kittens instead
If you plan to watch the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, but aren’t interested in the halftime performance by Bad Bunny, a local nonprofit has something you might want to watch instead.
The Merced SPCA will hold a “Kitten Bowl” live during halftime of the game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
Once the first half of the game ends, the 2026 Kitten Bowl will stream live on the organization’s Instagram and TikTok accounts, according to a post the Merced SPCA’s Facebook page.
The Flaming Felines will take on the Wicked Whiskers in the “game.” All eight of the “players” are rescue kittens available for adoption.
A promotional image on Facebook calls it “The Greatest Show on Paws!”
“Grab your snacks, pick your team and join us live as we celebrate kittens, community and the lifesaving work happening every day at Merced SPCA,” the post says.
The Merced Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has been a no-kill animal rescue since 1969, the post says.
