A popular ice cream shop is expanding to Merced.
Rock N Roll Handrolled Premium Ice Cream plans to open a new location in the city, according to the company’s Instagram account.
“Get ready for fresh hand-rolled ice cream made right in front of you, premium flavors, and the ultimate dessert experience you already love,” the ice cream company said in a Monday, March 2, Instagram post.

Rock N Roll Handrolled Premium Ice Cream is a Northern California dessert chain known for its rolled ice cream, which is made fresh to order on a freezing surface and prepared right in front of customers.
The shop recently opened its fifth location in Stanislaus County.
Rock N Roll’s latest location opened its doors on Jan. 24 at 801 Oakdale Road, Suite A5, in Modesto.
As of Thursday, March 5, the dessert chain had an average Yelp rating of 4.4 stars out of five, with customers praising its flavors and presentation.
“Absolutely AMAZING,” Yelp user Robert M. of Stockton wrote in a five-star review. “First time trying this place and it was so good I came back two nights in a row.”
Another customer called the ice cream “unforgettable.”
“I don’t usually get rolled ice cream but I was very impressed by their offerings for toppings and flavor,” Yelp user William V. of Fremont wrote, giving Rock N Roll a five-star rating. “They give you a lot of ice cream rolls and the price is not bad at all.”

Rock N Roll Handrolled Premium Ice Cream is known for its “freshly rolled magic,” offering several flavors.
Some options draw inspiration from Indian desserts, with flavors including saffron and gulab jamun, according to Yelp.
Popular choices include matcha, brownie and pistachio ice cream. Customers can also add toppings such as cheesecake bites, popping boba and cereal pieces.
The shop recently introduced a Dubai chocolate ice cream topped with crispy kataifi — shredded phyllo dough that adds a delicate crunch — and finished with pistachio butter and chocolate drizzle.
When and where is ice cream shop opening in Merced?
As of Thursday, an opening date and exact location for the Merced dessert shop had yet to be announced.
However, Rock N Roll Handrolled Premium Ice Cream said in its Instagram post that more details are “coming soon.”
As of Thursday, Rock N Roll had not responded to the Merced Sun-Star’s request for additional information about the new location.
