Atwater police investigate body found near railroad tracks
A man was found dead near a railroad crossing in Atwater on Sunday night, according to reports.
Atwater police closed the railroad crossings on Atwater Boulevard at Applegate Road and on Packers and High Street at about 6 p.m. in order to investigate, according to an Atwater Police Department Facebook post.
The crossings were opened a few hours later.
The Union Pacific Railroad Company notified Atwater police of the body, according to ABC30. The body was of a man in his 30s, ABC30 reported.
Police did not provide further details.
