The popular Mercado Night Market has a new location in Merced, although with limited space.

The Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which holds the events, announced Thursday that it has secured Bob Hart Square in downtown Merced to hold its first Mercado Night Market of the year on May 7.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. and feature vendors, food, music and more, according to a Facebook post.

The Mercado Night Market was established in 2021 during the pandemic to promote small businesses, artists and vendors.

Bob Hart Square is at 514 W Main St. The events had recently been held on N Street. A city ordinance forced the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to postpone the planned event in April.

Any vendors interested in participating can go to tr.ee/Q9rhf1gKKa and fill out an application. All participating food vendors must comply with Merced County health regulations, the chamber said.

For questions about the event, email info@mercedhcc.com.
