With food vendors, livestock exhibits, rides and entertainment, the Merced County Spring Fair is a popular attraction for families.

Now there’s even more of a reason to be excited about it.

The fair is now offering free admission for children ages 12 and under through a new partnership with Valley Children’s Healthcare, the county announced Tuesday..

“This generous support from Valley Children’s Healthcare will help ensure that more kids in our community have the chance to experience the joy of the fair,” Spring Fair Manager Cinnamon Howell said in the announcement. “From carnival rides to exhibits and hands-on activities, this partnership is all about putting smiles on more kids’ faces.”

The Spring Fair runs April 29 to May 3 at the Los Banos Fairgrounds, 403 F St. This year’s theme is “Roots, Rides & Ribbons.”

The fair provides free shuttles to the main entrance of the fairgrounds. They operate from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Fairgoers can park at the Food4Less or Target parking lots and take the shuttle to the fairgrounds.

Food4Less is at 2000 E. Pacheco Blvd. Target is at 405 W. Pacheco Blvd.

One-day tickets for those 13 and up are $12 in advance and $15 at the gate. They can be purchased online at www.countyofmerced.com/535/Ticket-Information.
