Store hours can vary by location, so be sure to call ahead or check the store’s website.
Here’s when local supermarkets and other retailers will be open on Monday, May 25, for Memorial Day in 2026 and which will be closed:
- Cardenas Markets: Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Costco: Closed.
- Food 4 Less: Open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- FoodMaxx: Open 6 a.m. to midnight.
- Grocery Outlet: Open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Raley’s: Open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Save Mart: Open 6 a.m. to midnight.
- Smart and Final: Open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sprouts: Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Marketplace at Merced shopping center will be open for Memorial Day on Monday May, 25.
While individual restaurants and retailers can have different hours, the mall will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What’s closed on Memorial Day in the Merced area?
Most government offices in Merced County, including the California Department of Motor Vehicles, U.S. Postal Service and public libraries, will be closed on Memorial Day — Monday, May 25.
Most banks will also be closed for the holiday.
