KVPT said the Valley Public Television’s Spring Auction is back, with nearly 1,000 items up for bid at a fraction of retail price.
As with last year’s auction, all bidding takes place online only at kvpt.org/auction.
To encourage registration, KVPT said it’s offering a pair of floor seats to see “Star Wars in Concert” coming to the Save Mart Center in June and dinner at the Elbow Room in Fresno. All those who register between April 1 and April 14 will be entered to win in a random drawing.
While a bidder could take part in the auction without ever turning on a TV, KVPT said it will continue to cap off the Spring Auction with four nights of live, prime-time television from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18.

But viewers still need to log on to the Web site in order to bid. KVPT moved to online-only bidding last year.
The auction will include the "Travel Extravaganza" and "Dining and Entertainment" theme nights, as well as the opportunity for viewers to bid on big-ticket items during each night of the auction. A description of the theme nights:
--April 15 and 17 Travel Nights: Travel destinations to San Francisco, Monterey, Pismo, Las Vegas, San Diego, Yosemite, Reno and more await the highest bidder.
--April 17 and 19 Dining & Entertainment Nights: Tune in to bid on concerts tickets, theme parks, restaurants, party rentals, event tickets, home décor items and more.
Deal of the Day items are available as of April 1. These buy-it-now items are limited in number and allow bidders to get discounted concert and other entertainment venue tickets, auto repair services and more.
KVPT said in a news release that the Spring Auction is one of its largest community fundraisers of the year. The event brings together community volunteers and relies on donations from hundreds of Valley businesses and individuals.
