Buhach Colony Thunder Band wins Unainimous Superior Rating third straight year

The Buhach Colony High School Thunder Band recently completed a school record-breaking festival season. The band performed at the California Music Educators Association Bay Section Concert Band Festival at Downey High School in Modesto and earned a Unanimous Superior Rating.

For the first time in school History, the band earned a score of 95 from all four judges. The band also scored its highest sight-reading score ever a 95. This is the first time in school history the band has earned a Unanimous Superior Rating three years in-a-row (2009, 2010, and 2011). This is an extremely rare accomplishment for any high dchool in California, the band said in a news release.

Chad J. Humpal is the music director at Buhach Colony High School.

On Tuesday, May 24, at 7 p.m., the band will perform at the Merced Union High School District Orchestra Performance in the Buhach Performance Theatre.
