Christmas tree displays at Courthouse Museum
It’s time to plan your Christmas tree display at the Courthouse Museum. You can help the museum decorate its historic building while publicizing your organization, school, classroom or business. This year’s Christmas Open House will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Dec. 7. For specifics and a registration form, stop by the museum Wednesday through Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. or call the museum office at (209) 723-2401. Registration forms are must be returned by Nov. 10.
Evening of Elegance at the Merced Theatre
Christian radio station 101.5 KAMB is hosting an “Evening of Elegance and Entertainment” at the Merced Theatre starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with appetizers and performances. Leading acts include Faith, Hope and Love; Cowboys by Night; and The Merced Baroque Sinfonia. The evening also includes a short, live auction of a custom-made grill on wheels, a flight over your home or ranch, vacation packages and much more. Cioppino Dinner and Auction for chamber
The Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will hold its 27th annual Cioppino Dinner and Auction on Nov. 14 at St. Patrick’s Hall, 671 E. Yosemite Ave., Merced. Individual tickets are $50, table of eight $400, and Gold Sponsor $600. A Gold Sponsor includes a table of eight with complimentary drink tickets and advertising in the dinner program. Doors open at 5 p.m., silent auction at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. For more information, call (209) 384-7092.
Free dental clinic at Merced Senior Community Center
A free dental clinic for adults is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Cleanings, fillings, extractions, X-rays and prescriptions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Youth Council applications are open
The deadline to apply for a position on the Merced Youth Council is Nov. 15. Applicants must live in Merced and be between the ages of 13 and 19. Applications are available at www.cityofmerced.org, from Youth Council members and from local high schools. Completed applications can be turned in to Youth Council members or the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, 678 W. 18th St. For more information, go to the website or call (209) 385-6298.
Drivers sought for disabled veterans
Disabled American Veterans is looking for men and women to be volunteer drivers for veterans. Volunteering to drive a veteran ensures that even those living remotely from Veterans Affairs hospitals can make medical appointments. DAV provides vehicles and fuel.
