Merced County Fair board takes shape
Two members have been reappointed to the Merced County Fair board of directors and two new directors have been named to the board by Gov. Jerry Brown, the fair board announced Tuesday in a statement.
Mark Erreca, 44, of Los Banos and Flip Hassett, 68, of Merced were reappointed to the fair board by the governor.
Brown announced the reappointments last week in a brief statement, according to the governor’s office website.
Erreca, a Democrat, has served on the board since 2003. He has been the principal at the Erreca Cattle Company since 1986 and a real estate agent at PMZ Real Estate since 2008.
Hassett, a Democrat and former Merced city councilman, has served on the board since 2010. He was executive director of United Way of Merced County from 2006 to 2014.
The board also confirmed two new appointments.
Vicky Banaga, 57, of Le Grand and Kimber Rogina, 54 of Merced were appointed earlier this year to the county fair board, according to fair spokeswoman Diane Conway.
Banaga, a Democrat, has served as the chief business official at the Le Grand Union Elementary School District since 1977.
Rogina, a Republican, has worked as a real estate agent at Century 21 Salvadori Realty since 2008, and has been co-owner of Rogina Inc. since 1985.
The panel has nine members who receive no compensation.
