Los Banos man killed in crash, CHP reports
A 26-year-old Los Banos man died over the weekend in a single-vehicle crash, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Steve Vieira was driving east on Henry Miller Avenue east of Cherokee Road about 7:10 a.m. Saturday in a 1990 Honda. The driver turned the Honda to the left, driving across the opposing lane and into the shoulder. The car turned clockwise and hit a utility pole. The car then turned counterclockwise and struck a second pole, crossed the road and overturned.
The man was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the Honda. He was taken by air ambulance to a hospital, where he died. The crash occurred several miles south of Gustine.
