The Merced Theatre Foundation is celebrating the anniversary of the building’s reopening with a special “Pick a Brick and Take a Seat” fundraising campaign.

Engraved bricks will be installed in the sidewalk on Martin Luther King Way next to the theater and are available in two sizes. Auditorium seats will have an individualized brass nameplate on the seat arm and the nameplates are available in all theater sections.

Those who purchase one or more bricks receive two tickets to a foundation sponsored 2014-15 show; purchase one or more seats, and buyers get four tickets. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of new stage monitors for the theater, according to a press release. The campaign is ongoing until Dec. 15.

Buyers can choose either a 4-by-8 inch brick for $150, or an 8-by-8 inch brick for $250. The brick can feature the purchaser’s name or can honor a family member. The cost per seat in the upper balcony is $500; orchestra, $1,000; orchestra front, $1,200; and loge, $1,500.

The offer is not valid on previously purchased bricks and seats. Forms for both bricks and seats can be found online at www.mercedtheatre.org, or call the foundation at (209) 722-3266.
