Arts open house

More than 40 local artists will display their work from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Folk art workshop

Mariposa Art Company is set to host the Art of Giving folk art workshops sponsored this month by First 5 of Merced County. Repujado, a traditional tin art, will be taught at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6. The group will follow the class with a visit to the Merced County Arts Museum, which plans its Christmas display. All classes will be held at the gallery, 1637 M St., and are free.
