Arts Wrap for Jan. 8, 2016

Second Saturdays

Merced County Arts Council and the county Office of Education offer Gail Dreifus and the Recycled String Band, which will perform music about ecology and nature, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Merced County Arts Council’s Black Box Theatre, 645 W. Main St. It is open to children ages 3 to 8. Admission is $3 per child, with no charge for adults. Tickets are at the box office. Call the council at 209-388-1090.

‘Julius Caesar’

Merced Shakespearefest and Merced College Community Services will present an all-female cast in “Julius Caesar” at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 and 23, and Jan. 29 and 30 (Fridays and Saturdays); and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 24 and 31 (Sundays). Peanuts play

Story time

Pops concert

Butch and Sundance

Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Twentieth Century Fox present showings of the classic Western “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969) at Regal Cinemas Hollywood Merced 13. Wire art exhibit

Vets on display

The Mariposa County Arts Council’s exhibition “In Uniform” features the artwork of Drew Cameron, Binh Danh and Pam DeLuco.
