Pops concert

Peanuts play

Audition for rock opera

Merced College’s Theatre Department plans auditions for Green Day’s “American Idiot” musical from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at the college theater, 3600 M St. Those auditioning should bring 32 bars of music appropriate for a rock opera. For more information, call 209-386-6644.

Second Saturdays

The Merced County Arts Council and the county Office of Education offer Becky Manandic and the South Pacific Dance Company’s Hawaiian-themed hula dancing at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Black Box Theatre, 645 W. Main St. Open to children ages 3 to 8. Admission is $3 per child, with no charge for adults. Tickets are at the box office. Call the council at 209-388-1090.

Vets on display
