The Harmed Brothers
Portland indie-grass-folk-rock group the Harmed Brothers is scheduled to perform at 9 tonight at The Partisan, 432 W. Main St. Also scheduled is Tom VandenAvond. Tickets are $5 at the door. Must be 21 or older to attend.
Menudo at Club Mercedes
Club Mercedes, a nonprofit organization, serves menudo every Sunday at 569 W. 9th St. from 8 a.m. until noon or until sold out. Prices are $7 for a small bowl or $8 for a large bowl. Elks Park breakfast
Merced Elks Park will have its monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Merced Elks Lodge, 1910 M St. The menu is pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit with orange juice or coffee. Bloody Marys will also be offered. Donation: $6 adults, $3 children. All proceeds benefit Merced Elks Park projects. Call (209) 761-6801 for more information.
Museum docent training
The Merced County Courthouse Museum, 21st and N streets, is recruiting volunteers. Docents serve as tour guides for visitors to the museum and help to educate the public about Merced County history. No experience or knowledge of Merced County history needed. A training session is scheduled for 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at the museum. Coffee and breakfast rolls will be provided. Make a reservation by calling the museum office at (209) 723-2401. Returning docents welcome.
Merced High FFA crab feed
The Merced High School FFA crab feed will be held Jan. 31 at the school gym. Doors open at 5 p.m., followed by a silent auction at 5:30 and dinner at 6. There will also be a dessert auction and a live auction. The event is the FFA chapter’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds are used for FFA trips, leadership conferences and supplies. Tickets are $45 each. Santo Niño de Cebu celebration
The Santo Niño de Cebu celebration, an annual religious and cultural event, will be Jan. 18, beginning with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 330 Franci St., in Livingston. Afterward, there will be a procession to the church reception hall. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. Adults, $7; children 7-12, $3. Rotary lobster fest
Atwater Rotary’s lobster fest will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Atwater APC Hall, Third and Elm streets. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance from Atwater Rotarians or Roger Wood at 358-7343 or roger95301@att.net. Raffle tickets are $1. The door prize is $1,000 in cash.
