Los Banos council to meet on vacant city manager position

The Los Banos City Council will discuss its city manager position during a special session this evening.

The meeting starts 5 p.m. at the City Hall Council Chambers, 520 J St. in Los Banos. But it will immediately head to closed session after a public comment session.

The position opened up in January, when former City Manager Steve Carrigan left Los Banos for the same position in Merced.

Los Banos Police Chief Gary Brizzee was appointed interim city manager Jan. 14.

Assistant City Clerk Jana Sousa said Rocklin-based contractor Ralph Anderson and Associates finished a search process for the city manager position March 14, adding that the city council may or may not take action after the closed session.

Sousa said she couldn’t release additional details on the search Tuesday morning.
