Sweet sounds at Merced Theatre

The Merced Symphony performed its annual Pops Concert last week at the Merced Theatre, featuring the music of composer John Williams. Conductor Ming Luke, above, led the orchestra in movie themes including “Jurassic Park,” “Star Wars,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Star Trek,” “The Godfather” and “Harry Potter.” The Merced Symphony Association’s next performance, the Chamber Concert, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 28 at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 605 W. Main St.
