Miranda’s Thrift Shop to open new Atwater location

Atwater residents looking for a bargain will now have a new thrift shop in town.

Miranda’s Thrift Shop will open its fourth location – the first one in Atwater – on Saturday.

The stores buy gently used items, clean them and then resell them. The new shop, at 995 Bellevue Road, will open its doors at noon. This will be the fourth shop opened within the past two years.

The shops are known for carrying thousands of items, including video games, furniture, toys, tools, DVDs, clothing, household items, camping equipment, bicycles, musical instruments, sports equipment, dishware and kitchen items, paintball gear, fishing lures and records.

“I know that Atwater is a great community and I want to be able to contribute to the local economy,” said store owner Esteban Miranda.

Miranda has two thrift shops in Merced and one in Turlock, all of which have opened within the past two years. He plans to eventually expand his business throughout the Central Valley.

According to Miranda, the difference between this store and other thrift stores is that Miranda’s Thrift Shop buys gently used items rather than taking donations. This allows customers to walk away with the best products. The shop also provides at home pickup service for customers who have larger items that are harder to move.

Miranda is a 2013 Fresno State graduate, who opened his first store in Merced about a month after his graduation.
