‘Poppins’ play

Playhouse Merced plans a live adaptation of “Mary Poppins,” which premieres at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, with several shows to follow, at the playhouse, 452 W. Main St. Tickets are $10 to $22. For more, go to playhousemerced.com/ or call 209-725-8587.

Classical music

The Merced Symphony presents the “Eight Seasons” concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20. The program, led by Music Director Ming Luke, features eight soloists. Tickets are $39 general and $14 for students under 25 with proper ID. They can be purchased at the Merced Theatre Box Office, 301 W. Main St., or online at www.mercedtheatre.org.

Costume design show

The Merced Multicultural Arts Center continues to show the retrospective costume design art of Dunya Ramicova, a UC Merced professor and Emmy Award winner. The show continues through Dec. 7 at the center, 645 W. Main St. Entry is free. For more, call 209-388-1090.

Merced actors perform

The Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto plans the courtroom drama “Inherit the Wind,” written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee, and featuring several Merced actors. Stand-up comedy

LB concert series

“Urban bluegrass” is on the docket when Morgan Canyon Band comes to Los Banos. The banjo, mandolin, guitar and electric bass make up the sound that combines the energy and carefree spirit of early rock with the vocal harmonies and acoustics of bluegrass at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Ted Falasco Arts Center, 1105 Fifth St. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets: $20 general, $5 for students with ID. Ceramics show

Second Saturdays

Second Saturdays continues in November, and then January through May at the Merced County Arts Council’s Black Box Theatre, 645 W. Main St. The program is open to children ages 3 to 8. Admission is $3 per child, with no charge for adults. The next show is Jan. 9. Call 209-388-1090.
