Merced County Junior Fair Board applications due Monday
The deadline is approaching for teens hoping to serve on the Junior Fair Board during the 2016 Merced County Fair.
The deadline to apply for a seat on the Junior Fair Board is Monday.
Candidates must live in Merced County and be 14 to 19 years old as of Jan. 1. A grade-point average of 2.0 or better is required to be eligible to volunteer, and candidates cannot show more than one animal in the 2016 fair. Each member will serve for one year and must reapply for membership in subsequent years.
Serving on the board will help fulfill high school community service requirements.
The 2016 fair is June 8-12.
Junior Fair Board applications must be received at the fairground office no later than 5 p.m. Monday. Applications may be hand-delivered, sent by mail or other courier service, and should be addressed to “ATTN: Junior Fair Board Advisers.”
Applications can be picked up at the Merced County Fairground office, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Merced. Applications also can be downloaded from the fair’s website, at www.MercedCountyFair.com.
