UC Merced lunch in Fresno

The “Educating Engineers for the Valley and 21st Century” lunch, presentation and community conversation led by UC Merced School of Engineering Dean Mark Matsumoto will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the UC Merced Fresno Center, 550 E. Grief group

Book signing at museum

Author Herb Wood, who wrote “Ghost Towns of Merced County,” will be signing his newly released memoir, “Off the Beaten Path: A Collection of Personal Stories,” at 4:30 p.m. March 5 at the Merced County Courthouse Museum, N and 21st streets. Bunco and lunch

The Livingston-Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary plans a lunch and Bunco Bash at 11 a.m. March 12 at Livingston Veterans Memorial Hall, 1605 Seventh St., Livingston. Look Good Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better is a free two-hour workshop for women cancer patients experiencing appearance-related side effects from their treatment to be held held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Monday of every month at Mercy UC Davis Cancer Center, 3850 G St. The next one is March 14. The center offers a number of other programs for cancer survivors. For more information, call 209-564-3600.

‘Heart for Art’

The California Retired Teachers group plans “Heart for Art” at 10:30 a.m. March 17 at the Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. The presenters will offer lessons on collage and watercolors. The Merced County Old Timer Association is looking for individuals to honor at its 74th annual Old Timers Luncheon. Family members, friends or the qualifying individual may submit applications.
