Atwater Togo’s to have fundraiser for Police Department

Togo’s in Atwater will host a Hero Appreciation Day on April 12. The sandwich shop will donate 20 percent of the day’s profits to the city’s Police Department, the shop announced earlier this month.

Stacie Miranda, marketing director for the store, said that ever since it opened last fall, it has been active in fundraising events for local schools. School fundraisers usually take place for only a portion of the day, but Hero Appreciation Day will be a full-day event.

The event is just another way to give back and build relationships with the community, she said.

The store currently offers a 10 percent discount to law enforcement officials.

The shop is at 1511 Bell Drive in Atwater and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m on the fundraiser day. Miranda said customers do not need fliers or tickets; all they need to do is purchase something.
