Two women who were rafting were rescued Monday along the San Joaquin River north of Woodward Park on the border of Fresno and Madera counties.
A man was able to get to the top of the Highway 41 bridge and flag down a CHP officer to alert of trouble.
Several rafters called the Fresno Fire Department and Madera County firefighters to alert them of the emergency.
Fresno firefighters used a boat to rescue the rafters after they became stuck in trees on the river about 1:30 p.m.
