This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church sponsors cooking competition

This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church is sponsoring a cooking competition fundraiser for Treasure Our Troops. The second annual Man Can Cook will be held Nov. 7 from 6 to. 8 p.m.

The community is invited to come and sample each dish that is entered into the competition for $5 per person. Men are encouraged to cook their specialty dish and enter it into the competition. First and second place winners will receive a trophy and a prize package, not to mention bragging rights for a year.

Donations are being accepted for a raffle to help raise more funds to further the cause of Treasure Our Troops.

Treasure Our Troops, www.treasureourtroops.org, is a Merced organization that was established in 2009.

Through funds raised at this event (and other events through the year), they are able to send care packages, letters and cards to deployed troops in war zones.

Now more than ever troops need support. Receiving a care package while deployed can help raise morale of the soldier who receives the package.
