Farmworker killed in motorcycle crash near Chowchilla
A farmworker was killed early Sunday when his motorcycle struck a tree while on the job, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies received a report around 11:30 a.m. that a man riding a motorcycle crashed near Avenue 24 and Road 24, which is about 9 miles east of Chowchilla.
The man died before rescue crews reached him, deputies said. His identity had not been released as of Monday afternoon.
Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Ward said deputies would work on the investigation with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health since the crash happened while the man was working.
