Two found dead inside houseboat west of Yosemite, Sheriff’s Office says

Two men were found dead Saturday evening inside a houseboat on a Mariposa County lake, according to local authorities.

Mariposa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a moored boat on Lake McClure, about an hour west of Yosemite National Park, after calls for a welfare check.

The deputies found two men, identified as Roger Dennis, 68, and Myles Correia, 63, of Merced, dead inside.

The deaths appear to be as a result of possible carbon monoxide poisoning, but the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating, said Kristie Mitchell, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
