Yosemite National Park will offer free admission to the park Monday in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

“This is a special day for our country, and we invite Americans to honor the legacy of Dr. King by visiting Yosemite National Park,” said Don Neubacher, park superintendent. “Dr. King’s work reminds us of the value and importance of service and commitment.”

The special one-day fee waiver applies only to park entrance that day. All other fees for camping, lodging or park activities will not be waived.

A recent series of storms has left a significant amount of snow in the park. Officials urged visitors to drive with caution as snow and ice may be present on the roads and also said visitors should carry chains in their vehicles as there are chain restrictions in place on many roads within the park.

For the most current road conditions, call 209-372-0200. Press option “1” and then “1” again to go directly to the road conditions report.
