Lineup set for Yosemite Music Festival in Mariposa
Now in its 15th year, the Yosemite Music Festival’s lineup has some returning bands and fresh faces.
The two-day festival is July 8 and 9 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, 5007 Fairgrounds Road, Mariposa. Fourteen acts will play an array of music including rock, folk and reggae, according to organizers.
Tickets range from $20 to $40; children younger than 12 get in free. Camping is also allowed July 8.
The festival is for both travelers coming to Mariposa for the first time and long time locals. It has something for everybody.

an organizerOriginally called the Carter Ranch Music Festival, organizers said, the annual event has been known to draw 500 concertgoers.
“The event has always been about collaboration of artists and their unique interactions with the townspeople, fans and supporters of the event,” organizer Adam Finney said on the festival’s website. “The festival is for both travelers coming to Mariposa for the first time and long-time locals. It has something for everybody.”
Here’s a few of the performers:
Bootstrap Circus: The well-known band from Mariposa plays a mix of ska, folk and rock influenced by Eastern European music. The band has played the festival before, organizers said, and makes the rounds throughout the foothills.
Heron Oblivion: The Oakland-based quartet is a rising star, according to organizers. The band’s sound switches from hypnotic slow tunes to guitar-shredding psychedelic riffs.
The Mountain Men Collective: Also from Mariposa, the band of a half-dozen or sometimes more plays bluegrass and Americana music. The band features a banjo, fiddle, upright bass and sometimes includes a saw, harmonica and more.
Paige Anderson & the Fearless Kin: Also returning to the festival for an encore, according to organizers, the quartet’s members are ages 13 to 20. Their bluegrass and country sound hails from Grass Valley.
The Jespersons: The foothills duo of Kaye and Jared Jesperson bounces between folky songs and jazzy vocal pieces. A mainstay at the festival, according to organizers, they sometimes join the Mountain Men Collective on stage.
