Meth, marijuana, gun seized during Atwater traffic stop
One man was arrested and another was cited and released Friday after a traffic stop in Atwater during which police seized a stolen firearm, more than an ounce of methamphetamine and nearly half an ounce of marijuana, the Police Department reported.
Danny D. Dauer, 46, was booked into the Merced County jail on suspicion of possessing stolen property. He posted bail the next day and was released from custody, according to booking records.
Police also cited 28-year-old Jose Garcia on suspicion of narcotics possession, Lt. Samuel Joseph said.
Officers stopped a white sport utility vehicle Friday night on Shaffer Road and spoke with Dauer, the driver, whose license was suspended, police said.
Inside the vehicle, officers found more than 29 grams of methamphetamine and more than 12 grams of marijuana, police said.
Officers also seized a stolen revolver from the car, Joseph said.
