Merced man shot in arm
A 24-year-old man was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon in Merced, the Police Department reported.
“Police believe the shooting may be gang related but this has not yet been confirmed,” Capt. Tom Trindad said in a news release. “The status of the victim is not known but the victim’s injury does not appear to be life-threatening.”
Officers responded at 4:40 p.m. to a report of shots fired near West 12th and G streets, where they found the victim, whose name was not released.
Police said the attackers were described only as Latino men driving a white car.
