Merced store robbed at gunpoint

A man in a black ski mask robbed a convenience store at gunpoint late Tuesday, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the Merced Police Department reported.

No arrests have been made.

The robbery was reported at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday at the 7-Eleven at the corner of R Street and Loughborough Drive, Capt. Matt Williams said.

A man wearing blue jeans, gloves and a black ski mask entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. There were no injuries reported.

Further details about the suspect were not immediately available.

Police declined to comment on the amount of money taken in the robbery.
