This inmate was being seen in Merced for a medical issue. Now she's on the run
An inmate at Merced County Jail escaped while being seen for a medical issue, the sheriff's office said Tuesday.
Alexandra Correa, 36, of Merced was under supervision by a private security guard at Mercy Medical Center before she walked out of the hospital around noon, according to the sheriff's office.
Correa was in custody on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and violation of probation, deputies said.
Residents who see Correa should not approach her but rather report her whereabouts to deputies, the sheriff's office said.
