Here's where deputies found a Merced County inmate who escaped this week
An Merced County inmate who escaped custody this week was captured after about 24 hours, the Merced County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Alexandra Correa, 36, of Merced was under supervision by a private security guard at Mercy Medical Center before she walked out of the hospital around noon on Tuesday, according to the sheriff's office.
She was captured Wednesday afternoon in the 16000 block of Letteau Avenue in Delhi at a Laundromat, according to Deputy Daryl Allen. An anonymous tip was given to the Merced County Sheriff's Office Supervised Release Team and Correa was taken into custody without incident, he said.
Correa is in custody on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and violation of probation, deputies said.
