Convicted felon arrested in Atwater for having 'several pounds' of weed, police say
A 39-year-old man was arrested after police found pounds of marijuana and weapons in his Atwater home, the Merced Police Department reported.
Officers and ICE agents served a search warrant to Jose Rodriguez's home on the 1600 block of Castle Street in Atwater on Friday, according to police. They found "several pounds" of packaged marijuana , two handguns, a semi-automatic rifle and ammunition.
Rodriguez is a convicted felon and cannot possess firearms, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of the sale of narcotics, and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
