Car thieves target Livingston, police say
A string of vehicle thefts Tuesday morning targeted Livingston residents, the Police Department reported.
“We’re looking into the possibility that one crew may have been responsible for all the thefts,” Chief Ruben Chavez said. “Usually, we get about one or two reports every few weeks, but we had four thefts in a one night. That’s pretty unusual.”
All four thefts occurred between midnight and 5 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Thieves stole two Hondas, an Accord and a Civic, and two Toyotas, a Tacoma pickup and a Camry, police said.
No suspect descriptions were available Tuesday.
Officers said they are reviewing surveillance camera footage from major intersections in town looking for leads in the case.
“It’s a good reminder for residents to always secure their vehicles. Lock your doors and, if you have car alarms, to use them,” Chavez said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Livingston Police Department at (209)394-7916. Tips are confidential and callers may remain anonymous.
