Atwater police seek public’s help in shooting
Atwater police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the people involved in a shooting Monday night on Broadway Avenue.
No injuries were reported.
Officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to the 800 block of Broadway Avenue after receiving reports of gunshots in the area. Police said multiple rounds were fired. Investigators collected several shell casings at the scene, Lt. Samuel Joseph said.
Officers said one of the persons involved may have been in possession of a rifle at the time.
Police asked several residents of an apartment complex to leave the area for a short time while officers investigated, authorities said.
No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions were released Tuesday.
Police said the case remains under investigation and they are asking members of the public to come forward with information identifying anyone involved.
