Police seek public’s help in Atwater robbery
Atwater police are looking for a man who grabbed several hundred dollars in cash from a liquor store register, officers reported.
Police responded about 9:45 p.m. to the OXOX Mini Mart, 3416 N. Buhach Road. Investigators said a man entered the store, picked up a soda pop and, while the clerk rang up the purchase, snatched several hundred in cash from the register, Lt. Samuel Joseph said.
“As the suspect was attempting to flee out the door, an employee attempted to stop him but was pushed away,” Joseph said.
The employee was not injured, police said.
Police said the man was last seen running west on Green Sands Avenue.
He was described as a Latino male in his 20s who was last seen wearing a black V-neck shirt with a white undershirt, black shorts, tall white socks and a black hat.
Atwater police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact investigators at (209) 357-6396. Tips are confidential and callers can remain anonymous.
