Former football coach suspected of exposing himself to juveniles, Merced police say
A Merced police investigation has led to the arrest of a former Golden Valley High walk-on football coach for allegedly recording and exposing himself to people — including minors..
Merced police say in August detectives began investigating several reports of a man recording young juveniles. The incidents allegedly happened at various businesses in the 700 block of East Yosemite Avenue.
During the investigation, authorities identified the suspect as Timothy Enos, 45, of Merced. Authorities also learned the suspect had allegedly been exposing himself while recording the videos, according to a news release.
Enos was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of Brookdale Drive in Merced, according to Detective-Sgt. Rey Alvarez.
Enos was booked into the Merced County jail on suspicion of misdemeanor indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a child under 18, according to jail records. Bond was set at $35,000.
According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, he is no longer in custody.
According to Samuel Yniguez, director of communications for the Merced Union High School District, Enos was employed by the district as a walk-on coach for the Golden Valley High School football team from 2014 to 2018.
Enos received a stipend from the district during his time with the team and a background check was conducted in hiring for the position, Yniguez said.
