Four days after Merced shooting that injured four juveniles, no arrests made, police say
Details remain thin in last week’s shooting that injured four juveniles near downtown Merced, as police continue to search for a suspect.
Detective-Sgt. Rey Alvarez on Monday said one of the four victims remains critical condition. The ages of the victims, all of whom are teens, have not been released.
Police are still canvasing the area for video footage or evidence connected to the shooting, plus following up with victims and witnesses.
Authorities have not determined if a vehicle was used on the shooting, Alvarez said.
Officers responded to the 100 block of West Main Street on Thursday, Jan. 31, after receiving reports of the shooting. The victims were taken to local hospitals shortly after police arrived, and officers shut down that block to vehicle traffic as they processed the scene.
