Suspected gang member arrested after officers find gun, Chowchilla police say

A suspected gang member was arrested over the weekend after police officers found a firearm, according to Chowchilla Police.

Officers on patrol arrested 21-year-old Randole Marlow on Saturday after they saw him attempting to hide in the rear of a business in the south alley of the 400 block of Robertson Boulevard, according to a Chowchilla Police Department Facebook post.

Officers made contact with Marlow and discovered a 9mm semi-automatic pistol on the ground nearby, according to police. Police said Marlow is a known Sureño gang member.

Marlow was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

Authorities said the firearm is not registered and has not been reported stolen.
