Suspected gang member arrested after gun found in Merced home, according to police
A suspected gang member has been arrested after officers located a firearm inside a home, according to Merced police.
At about 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Gang Violence Suppression Unit officers surrounded a home in the 1300 block of West 19th Street after officers developed information that suspected gang member Iisaha Davis, 23, was in possession of a firearm, according to a Merced Police Department news release.
Police said Davis exited the home and officers searched the residence where they located an AR-15 pistol beneath a couch.
According to police, Davis is a convicted felon and cannot possess firearms.
Davis was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of weapons charges, resisting arrest and gang enhancements, according to police.
