Atwater police seek suspect in theft at Walmart store

Atwater police are looking for a subject who allegedly covered their face and left a Walmart store without paying for items, according to authorities.

Police said that just before 10 a.m. Thursday, a man arrived at the Walmart store, located at 800 Commerce Ave., and was observed filling a shopping cart with merchandise later valued at close to $300, according to police.

Police said the subject made no effort to pay for the items and left the store before entering a white Chevrolet vehicle registered out of Livingston. Police said the subject’s face was partially covered during the incident.

If anyone with information about the subject’s identity is asked to contact he Atwater Police Department at 209-357-6396. Callers can remain anonymous, according to police.
