Police looking for armed robbers who demanded drugs from Merced pharmacy

Authorities are looking for two suspects they say robbed the El Portal Pharmacy in Merced on Monday.

Police said the suspects entered the 3377 G Street store wearing hoodies and bandannas on their faces. According to police, one of the suspects was wearing a dark and light blue hoodie while the other wore a gray hoodie.

The suspects demanded OxyContin and Codeine while holding a silver handgun to a store clerk, according to police.

Police said the suspects fled east across G Street. According to Lt. Joe Weiss, the robbers stole an unknown quantity of Xanax from the location.

Neither the suspects or the handgun have been located. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Merced Police Department Tipster Line at 209-385-4725.

The public can send information via anonymous text message to police by dialing “TIP411” (847411) and including the word “Comvip” as the “keyword” in the text message, according to police.
