Man accused of striking woman in head with skateboard, Merced police say
A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a woman at a bus station in Merced, police say.
According to Lt. Joe Weiss, authorities responded to the Merced Transpo Center, 760 West 16th St., at about 2:26 p.m. for a report of an assault.
Police said several witnesses directed officers to the suspect, identified as Vincent Fausto Thaddeus Reynoso, 29, who allegedly struck a 57-year-old Merced woman in the head with a skateboard, knocking her unconscious and resulting in a laceration.
The woman was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Weiss said.
According to police, a motive for the attack is unknown at this time.
Reynoso was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of felony assault and assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
