Two suspects were cited after they were found with suspected drugs and stolen items at a vacant building in Gustine, according to police.

Gustine Police Chief Ruben Chavez and Officer Corey Bayer responded at about 10:40 a.m. Monday, after it was reported that a subject entered a vacant building that was previously a medical clinic at 554 5th Street.

Police found 38-year-old Angel Garcia Aguilar of San Jose standing outside the building’s back door.

Aguilar was taken into custody and police continued to search the building where they found a locked closet door that appeared to have been kicked in.

Inside the closet, police found 29-year-old Jessica Reyes of Gustine, and she also was taken into custody. Authorities said they located a substance believed to be methamphetamine as well drug paraphernalia being prepared for use on a table.

Police also discovered a room covered in gang graffiti out of San Jose and multiple items that appeared to be stolen including a laptop computer, jewelry and cell phones.

Police said they were able to locate a name and contacted the victim, who was not aware that his home had been burglarized the previous night.

The victim identified the stolen property which was recovered and estimated to be worth about $4,630, according to police. The property was released to the victim.

Both suspects were cited and released on charges of suspicion of felony possession of stolen property, vandalism and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Chavez.
