Man arrested with multiple firearms near Jamba Juice in Merced, police say
A Winton man was arrested after police found him in possession of multiple firearms in Merced, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a man armed with firearms in the parking lot of Jamba Juice, located 1728 W Olive Avenue at about 1 p.m. Sunday, according to a Merced Police Department news release.
According to police, the suspect was reported to be in a blue Nissan Altima with tinted windows. After locating the suspected vehicle, officers approached tactically and confronted the suspect identified as 21-year-old David Ramirez.
Police said Ramirez was found to be in possession of what police described as a handgun without a serial number that was concealed in his shorts. Officers found another firearm in the trunk of the vehicle identified as a Colt, AR-22 as well as a loaded high capacity 9mm pistol magazine, according to the release.
Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of large capacity magazine, carrying a loaded firearm not registered to owner and purchase or sale of firearm without identifying mark, according to jail records.
