Victim in critical condition after shooting at apartment complex in Los Banos, police say
Los Banos police are investigating a shooting that occurred outside an apartment complex Tuesday night.
According to Cmdr. Jason Hedden, no suspects have been identified and police have not determined a motive for the shooting.
At about 11:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man shot outside of an apartment complex in the 1900 block of San Luis Street, according to a Los Banos Police Department Facebook post.
Officer arrived on scene and found a 45-year-old man with at least on gunshot wound to his upper body. The man was flown by helicopter to a Modesto area trauma center, where he remains in critical condition, according to police.
Police said the victim was reportedly sitting outside his apartment when two men approached him on foot. At least one of the men opened fire, shooting multiple times before they fled the area on foot through the apartment complex, according to authorities.
Police said detectives are still in the early stages of the investigation and are continuing to speak with witnesses as well as examining evidence.
